Following various meetings in the vineyards, there was a growing desire to create events which offer unrivalled experiences. Real culinary and wine journeys. Since 2012, once a month (5 evenings in winter and 4 in summer), La Bouitte gives carte blanche to an exceptional wine grower, offering a magical interpretation of distinguished terroirs.

A laboratory of ideas

The chefs create tailor-made dishes which have never been offered before. This makes the evenings a real laboratory of ideas. You are experiencing an experiment. The kitchen and dining room teams are like tightrope walkers: on the wire, looking for the ultimate emotion. And some food and wine pairings are like revelations and will become future “classics” at La Bouitte.

Guests understand that this is a genuinely creative initiative. They have the rare chance to chat with major wine growers and famous wine critics (Michel Bettane), who pass on their passion from table to table.

Out of this world, timeless, these evenings attract knowledgeable amateurs dreaming of tasting wines which are usually off limits, as well as novices looking for an exciting experience. It is a suspended, unique moment which is potentially a one-off experience.

Wine tasting evenings Winter 2018-2019

La Bouitte invites you on a real Tour de France of the best wines, from Nice formerly linked to the Duchy of Savoie (Clos Saint Vincent with fascinating grape varieties) to Bordelais (Saint Emilion Troplong Mondot) passing through Burgundy (very distinguished Clos des Lambrays and Corton Charlemagne Bonneau du Martray).

The evenings start at 7:30pm. Fee: from €290 per person all included. A large part and often all wines are offered by the estates. The evening includes 2 appetisers, a starter, a fish course, a meat course, cheeses, pre-dessert, dessert and petit fours, all wines, water and coffee/tea.

Domaine Georges Roumier (Burgundy)

Christophe Roumier grew this Chambolle - Musigny gem amongst the most mythical wines on the planet.

Bottles with finesse, superlative purity, and extraordinary balance. The silky texture is amazing, with a sublime touch of fruit. If offers the magic of the great wine-growing regions on the Côte de Nuits, combining energy, life, minerality, vitality and voluptuous aromas. This will be one of the moments which will mark the history of La Bouitte. An evening which has been planned for a long time…

Domaine Marcel Deiss (Alsace)

A long story of friendship has been written year on year between La Bouitte and this famous Alsace estate..

There are plenty of common features, with a full family history, fathers who have created a new dynamic and changed the rules.

And brilliant and hard-working sons, who have been able to manage their marvellous heritage to go even further. Jean-Michel Deiss and his son Matthieu, as well as their respective partners, invite us to discover 2 majestic terroirs: the noble and mysterious Schoenenbourg, interplanting of white Alsace grapes in Riquewihr, and Burlenberg, interplanting of different Pinots (Pinot Noir mainly and its versions Pinots Beurot, Meunier, Blanc, Gris) on a burnt volcanic hill in Bergheim with surprising planting density (up to 27,000 vines per hectare).

It will also be an excellent opportunity to discover Domaine du Rêveur, a project by Matthieu. An introduction to geosensory tasting, of which Jean-Michel is one of the great world experts, is sure to delight guests.

Domaine Comte Abbatucci (Corsica)

This is an evening dear to the hearts of René and Maxime Meilleur, who have an unconditional love for Corsica.

On this beautiful island, which has experienced recent, exciting development of the wine industry, an authentic artist gives life back to rare and forgotten grape varieties.

From a family of wine growers since the 16th century, Jean-Charles Abbatucci has continued and built on the research of his visionary father Antoine into white, red and rosé, and not forgetting liqueur wines.

The vine cultivation creates the most subtle and bewitching expression of the terroir. It is rare for continental Mediterranean wines to offer such finesse, complexity, digestibility and originality of flavours.

Beyond a starter range (Faustine), which is already admirable, the rarest cuvées (Valle di Nero, Ministre Impérial, Diplomate d’Empire…) sometimes in large sizes will be tasted during this dinner between the sea and mountain.

50th wine tasting evening at La Bouitte!

On 20 December 2012 during the first wine-tasting evening at La Bouitte with Doctor Alain Raynaud, René and Maxime Meilleur, Yves Bontoux and the La Bouitte sommelier team never imagined that they were setting out on one of the most amazing adventures, linking the worlds of haute cuisine and great wines.

Over the years, these meetings have become even more unmissable. The circle of attendees has grown, and guests visit from the 5 continents to take part in these extraordinary events.

During each evening, René and Maxime Meilleur reinvent and give their personal interpretation of the terroirs and the style of the wine grower being presented. They are happy to admit that taking this risk has opened up new fields of expression, increasing their creativity.

Each evening is a unique and powerful meeting with an artist wine grower and a remarkable region.

This 50th evening will highlight the favourites which have marked the development of La Bouitte. The final programme will be released in September.

Châteaux Mission Haut Brion and Haut Brion (Bordeaux)

No estate in Bordeaux offers such great wines in both red and white, offering the greatest wines of Médoc and the aromatic charm of the Rive Droite.

Mission Haut Brion miraculously combines a voluptuous texture, distinctive, fine tannins and an orchestral display.

Its whites are perhaps the best Sémillons on the planet. Masterful, slightly aristocratic, requiring a longer storage period to offer all their magic, Haut Brion offers unrivalled smoky notes.

Its whites, ranging from Sauvignon to Sémillon are also real works of art, where the immense energy and style hark back to the great Montrachets.

The director of operations Jean-Philippe Delmas will introduce La Bouitte guests to the mysteries of these legendary wines, through a look at these 2 Châteaux in 2 colours, as well as ancient vintages.
